Our entry level program for our NPL Program for junior players (U9-U12).

This program aims to identify and select players for our Pathways teams (U10-12). This program partly runs in conjunction with the Community program. The focus of this program is train to train.

Our strategic plan states we are a highly competitive independent NPL and NPLW focused football club delivering development and pathways for footballers. Through our year round Southside Stellar Academy we pursue this objective with opportunities for talented younger players.

The context of an NPL club is to develop pathways supporting talent development and identification. The FFA XI Principles state the need to ‘take a player-centric approach by identifying desired player characteristics and embedding these into talent identification systems.’

This starts with NPL clubs as the club proximate to the grass roots to be first to find and develop this talent. Accordingly, we extend participation in our context to consider the pathway we provide for developing players to play in the NPL as a first step in talent identification and player development.

Within this program, we aim to field the following teams:

  • U12 Boys and U12 Girls

  • U11 Boys and U11 Girls

  • U10 Boys and U10 Girls

Pathway teams typically play in the year above their age group to offer playing opportunities aligned with their talent level.
