Respect on and off the field
Wishing all of our players a great season – particularly our Junior League teams who start from 2 May. All of our Seniors have now started their seasons and our NPL teams are continuing theirs.
It is a timely to remind players, parents, carers, coaches, managers and our Wanderers community of our club values and expectations. Everyone, regardless of their background, deserves an equal opportunity to participate, succeed, and contribute to our sport. We value a welcoming and respectful environment for players, staff, volunteers, their families and the broader club community.
All players (and parents/ carers for juniors) have signed an agreement at the start of the season that emphasises respect whether it is on the field, towards team-mates, team officials, the opposition or referees. This includes in-person or online, including social media.
Positive words and actions impact others positively, but the opposite is also true. Let football bring out the best in you- anti-social, negative behaviour can cause harm long after a game or training ends.
Remember, our responsibilities are real online as well as in person. We are better off as a club and a community when we embrace diversity and respect- wishing everyone a positive, strong and enjoyable season.
